The last mile is often seen as one of the hardest drone logistics cases because today’s infrastructure and processes are not yet designed for mass-scale operation. That is exactly why it is a strategic outlook for E-Luc: the individual delivery is not the decisive factor, the infrastructure behind it is.
Same-day logistics offers a useful comparison. It was long considered realistic only for special cases, until networks, processes and automation made the model scalable. In a similar way, drone logistics on the last mile becomes interesting only when hubs, software, operating concepts and availability grow together.
Pressure in parcel delivery strengthens this perspective. Volumes continue to rise, staff remains scarce and efficiency drops especially where shipments have to be distributed in small units. Drones will not solve this alone, but they can become an additional long-term building block in suburban delivery networks.
